Self Love Monday- Change Your Words

IT’S SELF LOVE MONDAY!!

“Overcomer, more than a conqueror, I’m winner, the joy of the Lord is my strength” 🎶🎶🎶

It’s so important to speak words of life into yourself. How can you ever truly love and appreciate yourself if you don’t speak kindly to your own self? Words do matter. They influence how you view yourself. Changing your mindset and changing the way you speak to yourself is so important to self love.

💜

Practice speaking kind words to yourself, positive affirmations, and scriptures to remind yourself that you have so much to offer and remind yourself to reject the negative. Those kind words forwards yourself will translate into positive thoughts.

💜

Practice makes perfect! You must make an effort to have positive thoughts and words. This is an area I struggle in but I would like to get so much better. Life and death is in the power of the tongue.

Little Light

This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine! How are you allowing your light to shine? This song has been rolling around in my head today.

💜

God is my light and my salvation, I have no one and nothing to fear. God lights my path before me. Sometimes with the difficulties of life, it is hard to keep pressing. Some days, you feel like you want to give up. Some days you just want everything to be “normal”. Some days it feels like the walls are closing in.

💜

However, keeping your focus on the positive and learning to process the negative in a healthy way will help make your life journey a little bit smoother. Smile, laugh, spend time with someone or people you care about and pray. I am constantly learning the importance of perspective. I want to be a light not only for others around me but for myself.

Capturing Moments

Goooooood morning! What are you smiling about today? 💜

I’ve been struggling with a reaction of some kind with my lips for 6 days now. My lips had tiny clear bumps that burned, then my lips peeled and burned, and now have been pretty raw for a couple days. I keep waking up with swollen lips(kind of Angelina Jolie like) and the swelling goes down to not that noticeable as the day goes on. I’ve had this issue for 3 years or so and sometimes my eyes swell up too! 😫 Can’t figure out if it’s weird allergies or something to do with my chronic illness.

💜

So, I haven’t been able to wear lipstick or anything else besides Carmex which has been helping to soothe my burning lips. I tried allergy medicine and that’s helped with the itching sensation but nothing else. It’s very frustrating to have symptoms that you don’t know where they’re coming from or how to fix it. However! I’m smiling. I felt pretty and I felt like capturing this moment. Life is full of moments and I’m working on capturing the good ones even if they’re few and far between. I want to be more positive and process my emotions in a healthier way. I always have something to be grateful and thankful for. This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! God is with me, how can I fall? Sometimes you just have to encourage yourself.

Self Love Monday-Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

IT’S SELF LOVE MONDAY!! 💜”You may feel like a nobody to some people but to God you are a somebody. You matter. You possess incredible worth and value. You are fearfully and wonderfully made!”💜

When the burdens of life seem to keep holding you down, look to God because he is where your help comes from. He can pull you out of the dark pit you feel you’re stuck in. Trust and believe. It’s so hard sometimes, to do those two things, but God will take those burdens from you! He will lift you up and cause you to shine. Don’t let negative people or thoughts tell you that you cannot be the best version of yourself. You are a somebody. You have something to offer the world. You do make a difference. You are loved. You are important. You are incredible. You are fearfully, wonderfully, and beautifully made! Love yourself a little more, today.

Self Love Monday-Do You Love Yourself?

IT’S SELF LOVE MONDAY!!

💜”And if I asked you to name all the things you loved, how long would it take to name yourself?”

– Unknown💜

This one is hard. We can often name the things we love about something or someone else but when asked to be introspective, many of us find it hard. Why is that? It could be the way we were raised, our own self destructive behavior, broken relationships…there are a plethora of reasons. Practicing and mastering self love takes time, patience, and effort. It’s not a perfect process. But, when you begin to take the steps to caring for yourself, loving yourself, and protecting yourself from negative influences…you will begin to see a difference in how you approach life. Loving yourself isn’t about how conceited you can be but about finding the balance in how to function and live in the world around you. It’s about improving your quality of life because time is something you can’t get back. It’s about learning to be an active participant in your own life.

The next time you’re asked to name something you love, unapologetically name yourself. Speak it into existence.

Self Love Monday-Mirror Mirror

IT’S SELF LOVE MONDAY!!

💜”It’s good to truly look at yourself in the mirror with no makeup on sometimes”💜 This is me with no makeup, glasses on, just Carmex on my lips, and my hair wrapped up. Having a chronic illness can alter how you see yourself even more than what you already thought previously. I don’t mind not wearing makeup sometimes but what really gets me is truly looking at myself in the mirror and appreciating what God made me to be.

When I was younger, I developed a bad habit that when I went into a bathroom or saw a mirror, I would take off my glasses so I didn’t have to see myself clearly. I didn’t want to see all my flaws and imperfections.

I didn’t want to see the me that I believed I was. I didn’t have to face the reality that I didn’t like me. I still have this habit but I am learning to be okay looking at me. I’m learning to say thank you and mean it when someone compliments me. God made me just how he wanted me to be. It’s not about being conceited or staring at yourself all the time, but about appreciating and recognizing you for being the beautiful YOU that YOU are.

I am not less than. I am more than enough. This self love journey is just that…a journey.

Self Love Monday- I Refuse To Sink

IT’S SELF LOVE MONDAY Y’ALL!! 💜”I refuse to sink” Dealing with chronic illness and chronic pain is hard. Learning to cope is tough. Sometimes it’s easy to let yourself fall to anxiety and depression when problems won’t seem to go away or when they seem so big that you can’t handle it. It’s easy to become overwhelmed and feel stuck. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, For we walk by faith and not by sight, I’m learning to walk more in the promises of God! Won’t he do it? Yes, he will. I’m learning to tell my problems about my big God and not psych myself out so much about how big the problem is. It’s hard and I’m not perfect, but I will continue to walk in Christ. I refuse to sink. I refuse to fall. 💜
